All About Alex

You're back! Be sure to follow me on Twitter before leaving.

I first started designing websites in 1998, at the age of 12, after unwrapping his first computer at Christmas. Starting with hobby websites, I soon moved on to creating websites for family friends and voluntary projects. During his time creating websites, I became increasingly frustrated at the lack of activity and reward for my hard work. It was this fascination with driving people to my websites that set me off along the road of search engine marketing.

Towards the end of my time at the University of Chester, studying graphic design, I entered my final year with clear direction. My showcase project tackled the global issue of obesity, and specifically how diet awareness can be increased through visual interpretation. The project was composed from detailed research in to user-interfaces and usability, finally resulting in an interactive prototype that linked in with a web-based centralised database. Inspired by bubbles, and more specifically how humans interact with them as children, the final outcome was a success and contributed to his final 2.1 BA Hons degree. During this time, I funded himself through freelance work and self-owned projects and acquired over three years of business acumen.

A background of A2 level Computer Science and IT work-experience in the F1 industry has contributed to a proficient technical knowledge of computer systems and languages.

This fusion of creativity, relentless passion for both online and traditional marketing, and entrepreneurial mindset, is what I believe sets me apart from the typical online/digital marketing consultant. Working for his current employers, Urban Element, I have gained invaluable experience working with clients to increase their opportunities online. Clients under his control include; Polythene UK (the UK’s largest polythene packaging supplier), Ebico (the UK’s only not-for-profit energy supplier) and Fortec (one of the UK’s leading logistics companies).

I’ve hosted a multitude of small seminars, presentations and workshops in front of a number of SMEs. Through this I’ve benefited from a wealth of public speaking experience and transferable communication skills. You may also have seen me about at major SEM events such as SMX London. Continuous personal and career development plays a big part in my life and I dedicate a lot of time to reading productivity/marketing/mindset books and websites. My attitude is focused and goal-driven, however, this does not take away from my light-hearted side that makes me personable and approachable.

I’m always looking to network with like-minded people in the industry and those who may want to know a little more about SEO and digital marketing. Get in touch using the big button in the sidebar :)
